Step 1: It Starts With Your Story

The journey begins with you. Whether you arrive with a clear idea or only inspiration, our team will guide you through the possibilities. During a private consultation (virtual or in our Perth showroom), we’ll help you choose:

• The perfect stone — lab-grown diamond or moissanite

• The ideal cut — such as oval, emerald, or pear

• Your dream setting — whether a solitaire, three-stone, or hidden halo

• The right metal — platinum, or 14k/18k yellow, white, or rose gold

Step 2: Custom CAD Design — A Preview of Perfection

Once we understand your dream ring, our design team creates a detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model. This digital blueprint allows you to see your ring from every angle before any metal is touched.

We tailor every CAD file for hand fabrication — ensuring:

• Accurate proportions

• Comfort-fit bands

• Precision claw prongs (we never use outdated rounded prongs)

• Space for any hidden gemstones or engraving

We revise the design with your feedback until it’s exactly as you imagined.

Step 3: Hand Fabrication Begins

With CAD approved, the real artistry begins. Unlike mass-produced rings cast from wax, every Diamond Lab ring is built from raw metal and hand-shaped by a skilled bench jeweller.

Our artisans:

• Cut and shape precious metal bars by hand

• Solder components like baskets, bridges, and shoulders with precision

• Hand-file every surface for smooth curves and symmetry

• Create perfectly spaced settings for pavé or side stones

• Measure and align proportions down to the fraction of a millimetre

Every part is created individually — your ring is not “assembled” from stock. It is born at the bench.

Step 4: Stone Setting by Master Hands

Once the structure is complete, our senior stone setter takes over. This is a delicate and essential step — not rushed, not automated.

• Centre stones are seated securely in handmade claw prongs

• Pavé diamonds are hand-set one by one using traditional techniques

• Prongs are curved, shaped, and polished to enhance sparkle and security

• Each stone is aligned for optimal symmetry and brilliance
